October Letter from the Editor

"I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze. The sweet chill of pumpkin, and crisp sunburnt leaves." Ann Drake

Pumpkin Spice Latte season is upon us and it’s time to learn a little something from our inner basic bitch.

Taking it back to the basics and stop overcomplicating things. I am the queen of overcomplications; I love making to-do lists that go on for pages, overthinking strategies and holding back a launch because not everything is perfect. There is magic in the basics, they will get you ahead without the overcomplications.

We can get so involved in making sure our Instagrams get traction or that our blog posts reach 1,000 words and follow proper SEO that we fall out of love and lose passion.

When you are feeling overwhelmed by the online world all you have to do is buy yourself a pumpkin spiced latte, put on your Uggs and embrace the basic feeling.

What to expect this month…

It’s the season to be basic and here at theKoffeeShop, we are totally embracing it. This month we have a new series called “the Basic Blogger Series” where we take you back to the baby steps of blogging. If you are a new blogger this is perfect for you because we will take you step by step on the process of blogging. If you are a more experienced blogger we would still love for you to read this series; you can always take a step back, evaluate your blog and evolve.

More Koffee with Karina! It has been a year in the vault and it’s time to let this interviews see the light of day. Due to the rut, I was unable to publish some Koffee with Karinas and that was so selfish of me. These posts are filled with advice that will take your platform to the next level and offer the sprinkle of inspiration you need today.

Koffee Inspiration…

The most Fall coffees to drink this month:

For my Koffee addicts:

PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte): I went (mostly) vegan this year, so I can’t share the amazingness that is the PSL but you absolutely should! What is more fall-like than a PSL? Nothing.

For my non-Koffee drinkers (how do you do it? You will survive the zombie apocalypse)

Chai Tea Latte: I always tell people, “Chai Tea Lattes are what the Taylor Swift Red album sounds like.” I usually get mine with Almond Milk and it is glorious.

Starbucks Hack:

How about an Apple Cider?

You can order a steamed apple juice with Chai and make your own Apple Cider! Starbucks, bee tee dubs, didn’t sponsor this post but I heard someone order it. She said, “I am a total-fall basic girl and this drink has me dreaming of fall all year. It is finally the time to fully appreciate it.”

This. is. Why. girls. Run. the. World.

Enjoy Fall, Y’all

Karina Michelle
