Koffee with Karina and Amanda Holstein: Becoming a full-time blogger!

I am so incredibly excited to share this Koffee with Karina interview!  Amanda Holstein is the ultimate virtual bestie! When I turned 20, I went through a life crisis, I felt as if I wasn’t the person I was meant to be. I came across the blog,  Advice from a 20 Something and it quickly became my haven. It is my go to website for  advice on anything from blogging to beauty and fashion!

Amanda Holstein  is a 27-year-old living in beautiful San Francisco, CA. She launched  Advice from a 20 Something in July 2012 as a modern advice column for the everyday, stylish girl. She offers advice on anything from fashion & beauty, to love, relationships and even their careers. She is, not only the queen of advice, she has a a stylish and aesthetically pleasing  Instagram account to match, it is a must follow (trust me). I am so excited to share with you my chat with Amanda, I hope you enjoy!

What made you want to start blogging?
I was actually sitting at the receptionist's desk at my first job out of college, bored out of my mind, and I remember discovering  Cupcakes and Cashmere and thinking, "This is what I want to do!" I've always been the friend people come to for fashion & beauty advice, so it just made sense for me to give it a try.

What inspires you to create?
Exploring new places and walking around my beautiful city of San Francisco really gets me inspired.

How do you plan your content?
I keep an  editorial calendar going so that I can plan my content in advance. I try to make sure I keep it balanced with content from all of my various categories each week.

I love your  blogging 101 section! What is one thing every blogger should know how to do?
SEO!!! It is so so important to understand even just the basics of SEO. If you want readers to find you, understanding SEO is key.

I adore your  instagram, every picture is so lovely! What are your favorite photo editing apps?
Aw, thank you! I've been using  Afterlight for years and I love it. I've sort of gotten a formula down that works for me and my brand aesthetic.
